The Canada International Mobile Film Festival utilizes a Secure Server with SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption to ensure the secure transmission of data between visitors and our system.
While we employ encryption technology, we cannot guarantee that personal information will remain confidential and secure. Your use of this website and its content is at your own risk. CIMFF disclaims any liability or responsibility for the website, its content, or the handling, storage, transmission, or other use of the information you provide through the website.

Why does CIMFF collect your Personal Information?

Eligibility
Films submitted to CIMFF must adhere to the specific guidelines outlined on the Website, including format, duration, and content restrictions. Submissions that do not comply with these requirements may be disqualified.
Submissions are open to filmmakers from all countries unless stated otherwise in the specific Festival guidelines.
Film Submission
Films must be submitted electronically through the methods outlined on the Website.
Submissions must be received prior to the posted deadline. Late submissions may not be considered unless otherwise indicated.
By submitting a film, you represent that you are the rightful owner of all intellectual property rights to the content or have obtained all necessary rights, permissions, and clearances from third parties.
CIMFF does not require exclusivity. However, if your film has been previously showcased in another festival, it must be disclosed during the submission process.
Submission of a film does not guarantee its selection for screening or award.
Screening and Distribution Rights
By submitting a film, you grant CIMFF non-exclusive, worldwide rights to screen the film during CIMFF, including physical and virtual screenings.
You grant CIMFF the right to use portions of your film (e.g., trailers, still images) for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, press releases, and marketing materials, with proper attribution to the filmmaker.
Third-Party Distribution: CIMFF will not sell or license your film to third parties without your express written consent.
Intellectual Property Rights
You retain all intellectual property rights to your submitted film. CIMFF does not claim any ownership of the content submitted.
You affirm that your film does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third parties and agree to indemnify and hold harmless CIMFF from any claims or disputes arising from such infringements.
User Conduct
You agree not to use the Website for any unlawful purpose, including submitting content that is defamatory, obscene, abusive, or violates the rights of others.
You agree not to disrupt the security or functionality of the Website, including but not limited to hacking, introducing malware, or overloading the server.
Disqualification
CIMFF reserves the right to disqualify any film at its sole discretion for non-compliance with these Terms, submission of false information, or for any actions that may bring CIMFF into disrepute.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CIMFF, its organizers, partners, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Website, your submission of content, or your violation of these Terms.
Liability Limitations
CIMFF will not be liable for any loss, damage, or expense incurred as a result of your submission to the Website or any use of the Website.
CIMFF does not guarantee the Website will be error-free, or uninterrupted.
Entire Agreement
These terms and conditions, along with any other legal notices, policies, and guidelines linked to these terms and conditions, constitute the complete Agreement between you and CIMFF regarding your use of this website. They replace any previous understandings or agreements, whether verbal or written, as well as any claims, representations, or understandings related to this subject matter. This Agreement may only be amended or modified by CIMFF, with such changes being posted on this website.
Governing Law
This website and its content (excluding free contents) are physically located in the Province of Ontario, Canada. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada and shall be considered an Ontario contract in all respects, without regard to conflict of law principles. In the event of a dispute, both you and CIMFF agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Ontario.
Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be prohibited or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, it will be deemed ineffective only to the extent of such prohibition or unenforceability. This will not impact the enforcement of the remaining provisions of the Agreement or the validity and enforceability of that provision in other jurisdictions
Inurement
This Agreement shall be binding upon and benefit you and CIMFF, as well as our respective successors and permitted assigns. By accepting this Agreement, you acknowledge that you have read it, have the authority to agree to its terms, and have received a copy of it.
